UNIFRAX Foamfrax

Foamfrax® insulation is available in the following fiber grades:

  1. Foamfrax® Grade I Fiber (1260℃ rated refractory ceramic fiber)
  2. Foamfrax® Grade II Fiber (1430℃ rated refractory ceramic fiber)
  3. Foamfrax® Grade III Fiber (1650℃ rated polycrystalline mullite fiber)
  4. Isofoam® Fiber (1260℃ rated soluble fiber)

These different grades of Foamfrax® insulation are designed to meet specific temperature and performance requirements in various industrial applications. The choice of grade depends on the level of heat resistance and other properties needed for the particular environment or equipment being insulated.

Advantages

  1. Improved Fuel Efficiency: By reducing heat loss, the additional layer of Foamfrax® can significantly enhance thermal efficiency, ultimately reducing production costs by optimizing fuel consumption.
  2. Extended Furnace Lining Lifespan: With Foamfrax® insulation, it’s not necessary to remove the entire existing furnace lining. Instead, you can apply it directly to the current lining, extending its lifespan. This approach avoids the need for a complete replacement of the furnace lining, reducing downtime for maintenance and resulting in cost savings.
  3. Faster Installation: Foamfrax Grade foam spray application can be done at a rate of up to 2.36 m3/h (1000 board feet/hour), making it a fast installation process. This speed helps minimize furnace downtime and improves overall production efficiency.
  4. Smooth Surface After Installation: When Foamfrax® is sprayed, it creates a seamless surface without joints. This eliminates issues related to temperature-induced shrinkage, localized detachment, and frequent maintenance, resulting in a smoother and more reliable lining.

In summary, adding an extra layer of Foamfrax® insulation offers benefits such as improved fuel efficiency, extended furnace lining lifespan, faster installation, and a smoother post-installation surface. These advantages contribute to cost savings, increased production efficiency, and reduced downtime in various industrial settings.
